Sometimes...

Sometimes, it feels like all the constants in your life are falling apart, like they're not that constant anymore.

Now, my constants aren't super huge, like, I'm still alive and healthy and so is everyone I know, but still some things stink. Such as....

1: When you find out that your friends parents got divorced a year ago and you're going to her dad's wedding at the end of the month...
-Oh yes. This one is fun because when you try to talk about it with said friend, you seem like you don't care or are completely oblivious to everything in the world. Which you're not.

2: When you discover that a very awesome and epic band is breaking up.
- Ummm, David Crowder??? WHY ARE YOU FORSAKING US??? Come on man, we just want some more awesome YouTube rockumentaries. Is that too much to ask??

3: When you learn that your favorite radio show is going totally online in a week. And you won't be home.
- Ummmm, Heeeeeeeyyy Lightforce!! You couldn't wait until RTU was past? I mean, come on! It's DCBs last RTU EVER and some people (wink wink) don't have iPods or iPads and can't get your app. Thanks for thinking about the uncool teenagers with no technological gadgets. I mean, I'm not ever gonna be home for the last show!

4: When you find out that your favorite ex-teacher-turned-awesome-friend is moving away. With her new baby. And the two of you never got to hang out over the summer.
- Yeppers. I know all the reasons and stuff, BUT THAT DOESN'T MEAN I HAVE TO LIKE IT!!!!!!!!!

*sigh*

Yes, Yes, I know. God knows what He's doing and everything works together for the good of those who love Him, blah blah blah. But that doesn't make me happy.

Oh wells.
-SarahCate:(

FOR NARNIAAAAAAAAAAA!!!

Idk. Why not?

So, Team Edmund or Team Edward??

I'd say Team Edmund, but my Name Twin might get mad at me for stealin her man.

So I'm gonna have to go Team Darcy.

Anyways, Today is another awkward Saturday.

Meaning....

IT'S TIME FOR AWKWARD SATURDAY POST!!!!!

hahahahahaha I wanna be Batman... but I'm a girl. That'd be awkward...

So, life is good!!

How I Entertain Myself...

So I was at this Youth Conference thing, and A) it was really cool and B) it was really fun.

So there was this Youth Group and their assemble sign thing or whatever was putting their hands up in the air like ostriches. So I looked over and saw them doing this, and decided that I'd join them. My twin and I laughed hysterically while their Youth Leader gave me a slighty dirty look... But I had fun :D

And now I'm watchcing Pride and Prejudice, yeah the one with Keira Knightly? yeah I love this movie!! So I have absolutely no idea why, but at the part where they're talking about young women's accomplishments and stuff, Mr Bingley is playing with the tassels on a pillow while he's talking and I crack up every time!!!! This movie just makes me laugh and cry and cry some more. It's sooooooooo good!!!! :D :D :D :D :D

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof) Part 9

OKAY THIS IS THE END!!!!!!!
But, to quote the title of a cd by a band I like, "The End Is Not The End."
It's by House of Heroes, and they're reeeeeeeeeeaally awesome, so check it out. Especially "Code Name: Raven" and "Field of Daggers". Do it. Now.

Anyways, so life is almost perfect because I'm watching So You Think You Can Dance and eating jellybeans. Yep, you read that correctly. I can actually eat food now. It's amazing. I had a meatball sub for dinner tonight. Yes, you needed to know that.

So life isn't totally perfect A) because, unfortunantly, I'm not perfect B) because I have an online health exam tomorrow. Blech. Bleeeeeeeecccchh.

BBBBBBLLLLLLLEEEEEEEECCCCCCCCCCCCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

yeah, it's that bad.

On the bright side, I'm doing much better than the class standards. So hey, it can't be that bad. Just gotta look on the bright side.

ummmmmmm...

The only bright side is the fact that I got to take choir and band last year and that I get to take them both again this year.

The textbook has twenty typos. In twenty pages.

.........

So, I guess that this marks the last installment of the Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof).

*sigh*
It's sad to see such a great time come to an-WHO AM I KIDDING!! I got those puppies out, and now I can eat normally and I don't have to worry about them later in life!!!!!!!

Peace OUT!!

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof) Part 8

Heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeey!!!

soooooo....

I got out of the house for the first time today!!!

(YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!!!!)

I saw my dream guitar... (purple and sparkly)

(YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY!!!)

That's pretty much it.

Peace Out!!
-SarahCate:D

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof) Part 7

Well, I woke up about a half hour ago, and five minutes ago, I got to listen to my dad talk about his cloud watching experience at work the other day.
"It started as a dog, then it was a fis, then it was a teddy bear..."
Whatever, Dad.
No one cares...
And now he's trying to tell me that I should rename my blog Algebra 2 + God = Life.
NO WAY!!!!

gahhhhaahhhh...

So, I was just listening to the song "When She's Near" by Fiction Family. It's Jon Foreman and this other guy, and in case I haven't mentioned it yet, Jon Foreman is my hero. So, naturally, I enjoy most every song he releases.

The song kinda reminds me of the early Beatles stuff. I really like that sound, and this sound. So if The Beatles were recreated, they would sound like this.

And now my dad's talking about random nerd stuff. He's a computer nerd, as in, that's his job. He fixes computers.

*sigh*

I love my nerd dad, even though I never know what he's talking about.

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof) Part 6

Well, Hello there!!!

I haven't blogged the last few days because I have not had a computer.
:(
Well, I have one now.
:)
So, I've been playing around with music lately.
I played my guitars all day yesterday, and I wrote an arrangement of the Superchick song "Beauty From Pain." It's pretty awesome, I'm not gonna lie. Can't wait to check it out with our worship band.
Oh hey, we're on YouTube!

The link to Part 2 should be in the sidebar. Check that out too.
So, yeah. We're gonna be awesome this year.

I started writing the piano part for "Beauty From Pain" today, it's hard to write piano music! Well, it's not hard, I just don't have the patience for it.
Actually, I do have the patience. I just don't like sitting at a piano for a long time.

Soo, another thing I did today was check out Operation Beautiful's website.
I'm thinkin up a plan now...
Hey, ever been a Beautiful Operative???

So, that's been my life. Lovin it.

Oh, did I mention my swelling's gone down???

OH PSHYEEAAAAAHHH!!!!!

Only now I have nasty bruises on my chin... the one on the right side is a greenish-yellow with a blackish-purpleish-blueish line going through it. WHOOOOOOOOOOOoooooo..... yeah not really.

Peace Out!!

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof) Part 5

Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh....
Sorry. Just had to hit my dad with a plastic vuvuzela.

So, my mom bought this plastic vuvuzela at the party store on Saturday, and my dad had this GREAT idea to blow it very loudly.

Uhhh, maybe not such a great idea.

... NINE HOURS LATER...

More pain meds... yay!

Well, the swelling's gone down. I guess that's good.

I had another Strawberry Smoothie... yum!

Well, I have an exciting life...

-SarahCate:D

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof) Part 4

Sooooo... I finally abandoned my frozen peas. Now, I've been holding a warm washcloth. Yay.
I finally got some actual food, mac n cheese. YYAAAAAAAYYY!

But, the best part of the day so far has been watching BANDSLAM!!!
I am thoroughly convinced that it is the best movie ever!!!!!!

*sigh*
It's so awesome!!

So I get to rinse my mouth out with saltwater now. Yay. me.

Yeah not really.

Gaaaaaaah I wanna start a band so bad!!!!!!!!

I still look like a fat squirrel. So, I've gotta stay away from all mirrors, or I see myself and want to start crying!! Gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh I hate swelling.

I can't go on, I'll go on.

That's a pretty awesome band name, not gonna lie.

lol I love the part when they all start moving their hands like idiots.

-SarahCate:D

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof) Part 3

Soooo, I woke up this morning, and It would have been awesome if I had felt like P. Diddy.

However, I didn't.

My first thoughts were "Need ice. Need meds. Need ice. Need meds. Neediceneedmedsneediceneedmeds."
Well, actually, my first thoughts were "where am I" then "neediceneedmeds".
Eh, close enough.

The point is, I have my trusty bag of frozen peas here again. I'm going to have to part with them in a while, though. I'm supposed to switch to a moist, warm washcloth.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

(I love you, Frozen Peas.)

Anyhoo, so I took my pain meds, and I'm waiting for them to kick in. They haven't yet.

HURRY UP!!!!

And if I thought I looked fat yesterday, I look fatter today.
Stupid swelling.

But hey, you just gotta go with the flow, right??
*sigh*
I know God's in control, so, hey, what do I have to worry or freak out about, right?

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof) Part 2

Sooooo.... now it's almost ten at night, and I'm sittin on the couch watching a movie called "Timeline." It's got Gerard Butler and some dude from "the Fast and the Furious"... blahblahblah celebrities whatever.

Anyways, so, if you've never seen it, the acting's really lame, but its got a killer plot. Don't let the lame acting turn you away from the movie. Other than that, it's really good. It's about these archeologists who travel back to 14th century France and most of them die. The ending is really cute, blahblahblah. So that's what I'm doing right now...

I also have a bag of frozen peas on my shoulder, which I'm leaning my head against. The main reason is because I'm waaaaaaay too lazy to hold it up to my cheek as I type. And it takes too long to type that way. Yay frozen peas!!!

Oh yeah and I just had Yoplait Light Apple Turnover yogurt... YUM!!!!!

My cheeks are starting to hurt really bad, and honestly, I feel like a squirrel, with the chubby cheeks and all. Kinda look like one too.

My dad: "There's a lot of fighting in this movie."
Me: "Dad. They're in the middle of a war. Please."

Anyways... So all these people go to 14th century France (8 of them to be exact) to retrieve this other guy (8+1=9. So now we've got 9 people in 14th century France.) Well, five of them all die, one decides to stay there and marry this girl (who, Twin and I decided, could very well be his great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandmother (umm, can you say creepy??)), and the other two are the only ones that go back (well, with the old man, so three go back.).
Let's review.
Out of nine people that go to 14th century France, only three come back.
That's 1/3rd of the original number.
They're not doin so hot on a survival scale, are they?

Gotta move my bag of frozen peas.

There we go.

AAAAnd the movies over.

Aka, bedtime.

Good thing too, cuz I'm tired.

Goodnight -SarahCate:D

The Chronicles of Wisdom (or lack thereof)

This morning, I had my wisdom teeth removed. They put me under and I had a nice little nap, and then a nice lady WOKE ME UP!!! grrrrrrrr nice lady, grrrrrrrrrr...

So, the entire morning, I've been sitting on the couch doing NOTHING.

I watched "Guys And Dolls", the one with Frank Sinatra.

Then I watched "Princess and the Frog". Cute movie. I like the music.

So, all in all, it's been a pretty boring day. But that's just how summer goes, right??

Now, time for more pain meds...

When I Look At The Stars...

If Stars could talk, what would they tell us?
"GOD IS ALIVE!! GOD IS ALIVE AND WELL TODAY! I TALKED TO HIM THIS MORNING! HE ASKED ME HOW I WAS AND I JUST TOLD HIM THAT HE WAS AMAZING!!"
They would probably be screaming, hopping up and down like a four year old who just had candy, so enthralled that The Maker Of The Universe would stop to talk to them, one of gazillions of stars in the universe. It would be impossible for us to count all the stars in our sky, let alone all of the stars in the universe. We don't even know how big the universe is.

God, what did I ever do?
You know my full name, my blood type, how many hairs I have on my head, every thought I've ever thought, every dream I've ever dreamed, everything I've ever seen.
What did I ever do?What did I ever do to make You even want to know that stuff?
I know the answer.
Nothing.I haven't done anything amazing.
I haven't spoken to thousands of people, telling them how much You love them.
I can barely stand in front of my class to give a report.
But You know everything about me.
More than that, You care about me.Bigger still, You love me.

You are the God of the Universe.
You can take the entire universe and go "Yep. Just another thing I made."
You may even have a trillion more universes scattered in heaven, with trillions of more people who have trillions of more names.
But You care about and love me.

There's a song by As Cities Burn called "Our World Is Grey."
It seems insignificant.
How many songs have You heard, God?Well over even a gazillion, I'm sure. The opening verse of the song says:

"I'm sure if You wanted to stop love,You could just untie Your end and let it go.
But My God, You don't.
I think I love You for it."

God, I know I love You for it.

There are many more people who have done greater things than I who will never know You.
Instead of wasting Your time on me, why not use it on them?

Because You love me.
You made me.

I think I love You for it.
No, I know I love You for it.

And it's not a superficial love either.
The kind of love you give to someone who saved your life
or the kind of love you give to a puppy.
It's not the kind of love you give to your parents.
It's not even the kind of love you give to some one who you love.
That's all fine and good, but that's just human love.
No. This is heavenly love.

Nothing that you can find on earth could ever compare to it.

Never.

"I think if you wanted to stop love, you could just untie your end and let it go."

God, why do You love me?
Why do You know my name?
Why do I matter so much?
Why are You so set on loving me?I'm a sinner.
I'm far worse than the junk on the stars.
"But My God, You don't."

But You love me for who I am.
Even though it's not much.
Right now, I feel so small.
I feel like You could just take your thumb and squash me, much like the way I squash a pesky bug.

"But My God, You don't."
You know the name of every single star.

Scientists don't even have names for all of the stars in our galaxy. And that's not even a handful of stars in Your terms.

I don't know the names of any stars.

You know when they were created.

Scientists argue over when a star came into being.

I have no idea whatsoever. You know the name of every person that has ever lived, is living, and will ever live.

Not even a world-wide census could do that.

I barely know the names of the people at my church.

You know my name.

I know I love You for it.
God, You show up everywhere.
In our bodies...

Laminin. It's a small, microscopic structure that essentially holds you physical body together.
And it's in the shape of a cross.
The shape that represents life.
The blood of Jesus is holding us together.

God, You also show up in your universe.

The "x-structure" at the core of the Whirlpool Galaxy.

Oh. My. God.

There is nothing that I could do to ever compare to that.

You just find clever little ways to remind us that You are there.

You probably just think "They're not that clever. Or that hidden. You just need to look for them."

I know I love You for it.

God, You are beyond words.

Indescribable.

God, I know I love You for it.

You set every star where it is

and You know my name.

"What is mankind that You are mindful of them, human beings that You care for them?" (NIV)

"Why do You bother with us? Why take a second to look out way?" (Message)

If you wanted to stop love, You could just let go of Your end and say "That's it. I'm done."

But My God, You don't.

And God, I love You for it.

Indescribable.

I Love You.

God is with me

So, I was helping in a preschool this morning, and I was in the lesson with some of the kids.
There are a few truths that I think we forget as we get older.
God is with me where ever I go.
Jesus Loves Me.
Jesus wants to be my friend forever.
We forget these, because society usually teaches us to forget them.
They tell us that Jesus isn't real, that He doesn't really care about us.
LIARS!!!!!!!
I know He loves and cares about me.
I've met Him.
I know Him.
We need to remember these truths.
Maybe, even though we say we know more than these kids, they can teach us something.
Maybe, they can teach us what it means to love Jesus.

Moving On...

Tonight is Graduation.
No, I'm not graduating. I've still got a few years here before I graduate.
But some of my closest friends are.
There's a time in everyone's life when they meet someone and develop a relationship with them, only to have them vanish from their lives.
And that leaves a hole.
A hole in the woodwind section.
A hole in the worship band.
A hole in our Bible class.
A hole in our hearts.
Thankfully, with Facebook, we can keep up with those people.
But it's not the same as seeing them face to face.
Lately, I've found myself wondering,
"Who's going to make sure I'm alright during band practice?"
"Who's going to help lead worship band?"
"Who am I going to run to talk to after school?"

We all have those people.

But God always brings someone to fill that hole.
Those people can never be replaced, but God puts someone there to check on us at band practice.
God puts someone there to help with worship band.
God puts someone there to talk to.

Maybe people leaving is a sign that it's time for us to step up.
We can be the one to check on people at band practice.
We can help lead worship band.
And We can be there to talk to someone.

So, as sad as it is to see them go, We can be confident that God will bring someone just as awesome to replace them (I used replace for lack of a better word. We all know that those people can't be replaced.)

So as the old familiar tune of "Pomp and Circumstance" begins, let's remember that this shouldn't be a time of sadness. Those people are moving on, towards whatever God has next in their plan. Shouldn't we celebrate with them? It may be a scary looking road ahead, but we'll make it.

"In all things, we know that God works for the good of those who love Him."

Melissa, Jessica, Mrs. P: This one's for you.

Love You All,
SarahCate:D

A little more about me...

One thing most people don't know about me is that I'm a songwriter.

For me, songs are a way to express what I'm feeling in my own words. With my own music.

But sometimes, you don't even need words.

Below is a link to my original song, "Without Words."

About Me... And The Craziness that ensues.

Helloooooooooo!!!!
This is my blog! (duh)
Sooo... about me...
Well, first, Be warned: I am insane.
My main passions in life are Music and God (hence the title of this blog...)

Music:
When I say music, I mean Christian music (mostly). Switchfoot, The Almost, Chris Tomlin, Family Force Five, Flyleaf, etc...

God:
I am deeply in love with my Savior, Jesus Christ. I respect everyone elses opinion, but I honestly am not going to listen to them go on about how Jesus was just another "good guy." I just kinda stare at them and think "He MADE you. How do you doubt His existance? Do you not believe in your parents either?"

So, one thing that combines my two love is WORSHIP BAND!!!! I get to jam out and praise Jesus at the same time!! WOOT WOOT!!!

Anyhoo, this is the first of hopefully many more posts. God bless!!!
